best tv sci-fi show

after all the battlestar galactica talk, i got to thinking, what's the best sci-fi show i've ever seen on tv? it took me about 2 minutes to come up with an answer.

it wasn't anything to do with battlestar galactica. battlestar was good but it wasn't anything special in my opinion. a lot of episodes bored the shit out of me.

the best ever: the sandkings from the outer limits.

i happened to be channel surfing years ago and got lucky. after 20 minutes or so i was glued to the tv. the best thing about the sandkings was the way it kept slowly building up to the excitement. it also was a wee bit plausible. i won't say anything more about it in case anyone decides to watch it.

as luck would have it the sandkings dvd was in the library and i have it reserved. i can't remember if i've ever seen it on dvd but i'm gonna watch it this weekend.

i love those sandking sons of bitches, you probably will too.

Wow, now there's a title I have not thought of in awhile. It was great. One I'd like to see again. I think I'll take your cue and order it.

ananda - an army of sandkings would have helped avtar deal with those arab troublemakers.

yellowdog - monster horror chiller theatre from sctv?

sage - i'd put the sandkings over bsg on the list

citizen - older kids would love it, so would you.

Saw it recently. It's still great, but are we going to argue single episode shows or series? I have multiple candidates in every category imaginable. First nominee for third place: Twilight Zone-- "How To Serve Man."

I think Karloff's show was Tingler-- I actually got some episodes on one of those 5o horror flicks deals.

How about the best Christmas Show ever? I'll nominate the Millennium episode where Frank Black reconciles with his father, played by Darren McGavin.

bob - i'm not arguing, i thought i was acquiescing to your point of view that battlestar had it's flaws.

how about firefly?

If I'm not mistaken (what are the odds) 'Sandkings' was the very first offering from the new Outer Limits..there was an old Outer Limits,..black and white version before that.
Also,Boris' show was called 'Thriller'.

I loved firefly. Fan of the movie too. Ditto for Millennium... what an awesome show that was!

billy, I was shocked that Atvar was so short. Why? I don't know. Still loving the story. It's taking me longer than usual because of vacation interruptions. How can he be so sort when he's tall dark and sacly in my dreams? ha.

Billy-- "argue" in the sense of discussion-- you know like English class. Anyway sorry to confuse you earlier. I was talking about this post (http://madinthemiddle.blogspot.com/2009/03/ign-battlestar-galactica-end.html) which you've probably already seen.

Firefly-- I didn't much like either but I thought Serenity was a good movie.

There was a Futurama episode kind of like this. Bender was God, come to think of it, there was a Simpsons kind of like it too. I liked them all. Bruce Almighty even touched on it. Being God ain't all it's cracked up to be.

sling - the odds of you being mistaken are miniscule, so i've heard.

bob - good point. children argue, enlightened sci fi fans discuss.

tex - i think dale gribble might have been raising sandkings in his basement.
