dalai lama

the traveling medicine show is in vancouver this week. the dalai lama has a cure for everything that ails a person. the cheapest ticket is $148 for a tuesday morning session. there's lots of money in buddhism these days. it's billed as a peace conference but make no mistake about it, it's the dalai lama show.

i'm not a big fan of the old lama. it would be my guess that the traveling road show selects all stops based on revenue potential. when the last time the lama gave a lecture in butte montana??

it is my opinion that buddhism is no different than any other religion, it's a money and control racket with those at the top making a fortune. if anyone just fell off the turnip truck and thinks the dalai lama and his buddhism racket is as pure as the driven snow take a look at the facts:

Friendly Feudalism: The Tibet Myth

it's a long read but the facts are interesting.

Why would god pick Joe Blow to impart god's wisdom to me when god could tell me himself and avoid any misunderstanding?

Fuck the dalai lama, he's a fucking pussy and I wouldn't walk across the street to listen to him for free.

You want some advice from god?

"Chill out, drink some booze or smoke some fucking pot. And stay away from the fucking christians, muslims, jews and buddists."

Religion is ruined once a celebrity gets a hold of it.

Trying to think if a celeb is on the Hare Krishna bandwagon.

I once had a ancient history teacher who was a Hare. I disliked him, he was a dick!

yellowdog - did the bhagwan shree rajneesh have a daughter?

ananda - these addled snoutcounters in their not empires like to worship false gods.

bbc - tell me how you really feel.

apos - the celebrities are a pain in the arse but they're excellent fund raisers so the religious leaders embrace them big time.
