flu shots

tomorrow i'm getting 2 flu shots.

i called the clinic telling them that i just wanted the normal seasonal flu shot but they said no dice. i couldn't get the normal flu shot unless i got the h1n1 shot. something about the normal shot might cause me to get h1n1.

i always get a sore arm after the shot so that's why i only wanted to get the one shot. the nurse wasn't too impressed with my logic. so it goes.

last year the bitch nurse gave me the shot right in the middle of my sea turtle tattoo. i pouted over that one for days.

That is strange they are giving yours together..we have to wait 4 weeks between shots...maybe you Canadians are on to something.

I’ve already had both through work, about two weeks apart.

The flu one was kinda mandatory…as in, if we refused it and later on down the track call in sick because of the flu/cold we’d be wrote up.

The H1N1 was entirely optional and I got it up the nose.

First two “medical” things I’ve had here and both didn’t cost me a thing. Pity I can’t say that about FatBastids recent trip to the hospital…$6000. OMFG!

I've only had the regular one so far... they're out of it here for the N1H1. I'm on a list.

Needles, blood and pain are things that do not bother me much... unless the pain is in my feet, then I'm a whiny bag.

Good luck with the shots. Remember, the more you relax, the less bruising to the tissue... less pain.

My Wound Nurse gave me the regular flu shot as In my condition I am at high risk. They still don't have the H1N1 here yet for anyone other than health workers and really sick people.
Apos, $6000 is a drop in the bucket. My and the Boss's health insurance have paid in well over $1,000,000.00 so far.

I poke a needle into myself every day now and have gotten used to it, sort of.

I'm not getting the flu shot or the h20nfw12 shot.what ever the fuck it is..im almost 66..I had the flu in 1971...have never had a flu shot and haven't had the flu since then..so ffffffuck em...no shots for me..plus tex told me if i took it they would implant a gps in me, follow me home and take away all my guns.

I'm not afraid of shots but I'm not getting any flu shots. Hell, if everyone else is getting them why would I need one being as they won't be spreading that shit around? Ha ha ha.

I know that it's a crap shoot but I'm willing to risk it, I'm careful about being around others and it won't be as rampant here as it is other in more populated areas.

If I do get it I'll go sneeze on all those sons a bitches I don't like, like at city hall, ha ha ha.

Follow her home and take away all her guns, ha ha ha. To bad that feisty old bitch and I don't get along.

sage - i think we couldn't figure out the logistics of giving 2 shots so the guys in charge just said screw it, give'm both at the same time.

apos - $6000.00? did they throw in a few meals?

ananda - i'm gonna close my eyes and hum whilst getting the shot.

mr wit - a million bucks, 5 more and you'll be steve austin.

yellowdog - it's a tough call who to believe, tex or the doctors. luckily i have a code that i live by; if it's free, i'll take it.

the flu shots are free.

I never get flu shots.
I don't like the flu,so it leaves me alone.

BBC said...

Ah, they are not free here, they are about twenty bucks unless you are in some sort of a plan that pays for them. If they was maybe I would get one.

Actually, I think the flu may fear me.

billy pilgrim said...

bbc - i had to decide between washing my hands twice a day or getting the shot. i'll go with the shot.

sling - i've found the flu to be a big fat liar. just when it convinces me i'm safe, it hits.

Not even a dry bloody cracker...hate to think of the cost if they had fed him.

billy pilgrim said...

did they at least have a vending machine down the hall?

they didn't give me any food after the flu shots either but i had a great big bowl of ice cream to reward myself for being so feckin brave when i got home.

BBC said...

Ice cream is never a bad thing.

apositivepessimist said...

Didn't see one, but then again I didn't wander about in search of one neither.

Well, you definitely deserved the ice-cream, you were a big brave boy after all!

Personally, I think you're freakin' crazy to get either one of them.
In a Canadian study people that got the regular flu shot were twice as likely to get H1N1.
I guess that's why they made you take both.

"Mother should I trust the government?"

billy pilgrim said...

bbc - what's better; ice cream or beer?

apos - my arm still hurts!

tex - it's all a clever canadian plan so other countries won't want the vaccine. we'll have tons of the stuff when all the unvaccinated people start to croak.

apositivepessimist said...

More ICECREAM needed!?!

FatBastid’s Uncle says…why should I get the flu shot, everybody else is, therefore why do I need it.

They are offering FluMist now - I'm considering it. I don't do shots unless I have to have them for traveling.

Billy - I knew there was more to it than meets the eye.

I got mine and *still* got the flu. $25 for nothing. What a ripoff!
