it's been a nice warm sunny day so i rode the black adder (new bike, cool name eh?) up to the turtle lake today but there weren't any turtles. looking at a log full of turtles always lifts my spirits but it looks like i'll have to wait until 2010 to enjoy watching the little baskers.
it's just as well that they've dug into the mud for the winter with those feckin olympics about to invade our fair city. i wouldn't want the chinese speed skating team taking a tour of the lake and making dinner out of my soul mates.
in other news, we got lucky and found a ship load of TAMIL ASYLUM SEEKERS. most people want to ship them back to where they came from but the professional refugee advocates want to put out the welcome mat.

The whole emigration thing is complex. As for this country I think my (our) ancestors should have stayed in their home countries and fixed the problems there instead of coming here without invite and taking everything they could, killing for it if they had to.
In that sense I think the Tamils should stay home and fix things there. Besides, at this point in time Canada damn sure hasn't got room for them, job wise anyway.
I hesitate to use it cuz I saw it on a church reader board but, GROW WHERE YOU ARE PLANTED. Meaning grow where you are born.

M granddaughter was sitting in my lap when I opened your blog to show her Ruby. She now knows about the feed the turtles thing. She'll want to visit a lot more.
Water rich here also, and I'm thankful for that. I can and do drink the water off my roof being as I'm not hooked up to any other water system here.
On the up side, I don't have a water bill. Or a garbage bill, or a sewer bill, etc.
That explains why I don't have a mate but I'm getting okay with that. At least I have extra money and owe the world nothing.

sling - i'm not sure if the boat is full of good tamils or bad tamils. our government will probably spend 100 million bucks to try and figure it out.
Do the turtles burrow intot he mud for the winter? I saw a few snapping turtles out at the lake the other day, so they are still out and about here.
secret - they do burrow into the mud and hold their breath for about 6 months.
