let me count the ways

how busy have i been? let me count the ways.

we moved! back in january we saw a house that caught our eye so we bought it. the real estate market in the vancouver area is crazy so we had to pay over the listing price. then came the difficult part, selling our old house. i worked like crazy cleaning it up, i was even painting the fence in the cold january weather. the neighbors thought i was nuts.

this past weekend we did the move. we hired movers for the furniture but i moved a shit load of heavy boxes etc and for a few days every muscle in my old body ached. yes, cry me a river. yesterday i fixed a closet. if there's one thing that just drives me fucking nuts, it's flimsy fucked up wire racks and weak clothes rods:

this is my basement closet for coats etc. i need strength and strength is what i now have! steel rods, wall reinforced with real wood and a son of a bitch 2X4 in the middle to prevent the rod from sagging. i hate anything that sags.

and here's the best part of the adventure: RUBY BIT THE REAL ESTATE AGENT! good old roo has another notch in her belt.

i love you sons of bitches.

russia and ireland, a tale of 2 countries.

it was the best of times, it was the worst of times.

that might sum up the russian situation if reuters is to be believed. they say THE RUSSIAN ECONOMY IS IN CRISIS over the crimean adventure. is this true? who knows but if it is true, the universe is unfolding as it should, for every action there is an equal and opposite reaction.

newtons law also applies to the irish on st paddy's day. here are a few of the equal and opposite reactions to the irish celebration:

and a few more equal and opposite reactions:

and a few more irish yoga poses:

happy fucking st paddy's day. i love you sons of bitches.

the ukes

yours truly has truly been busy this past week and will be even more busy in the coming weeks. i don't like being busy so please say a prayer for me.

since i don't have a primo topic at the moment let me give you my 2 cents on the ukraine. my dear old dad grew up on the prairies in the depression and has given me lots of stories, most of which went in one ear and out the other but i'll never forget his comments on the ukes. there were lots of ukrainians on the prairies where he lived and this is what he told me: "never trust a fucking ukrainian, they'll slit your throat for a nickel."

i've never really had any dealing with ukrainians but i had a russian boss for a few years. a real fucking russian, born in russia. she was very hard working and very blunt. almost everyone hated her but for some funny reason i liked her. it might be because i'm a big dostoevsky and tolstoy fan but for some funny reason we hit it off.

so in a nutshell here is my opinion on the crimean situation: i don't give a shit but i'd probably lean a little towards the russians. the ukes have fucked up their country and are basically bankrupt due to corruption and incompetence. putin might well be corrupt, but he's competent. competence is important.

being leo myshkin, i'm probably a wee bit biased but don't forget, i love you sons of bitches.

goodbye rasslin

for the past several years i've been having an enjoyable little battle with the cable/internet provider. it all started when sonny was a student and learned that he could get me a student discount if i put the service in his name and for a few years i received the service for about half price. then sonny graduated so i put the cable package in my daughter's name and continued to get the student discount. then much to my horror the cable company cancelled the student promotion and i was back to the regular price. i called customer service and negotiated a temporary 6 month discount. this was a few years ago and i've been threatening to cancel a few times a year to keep getting the discount. about a month ago i called to actually cancel the service because a different company offered me a great deal. my decision was firm, i cancelled.

last week the old cable/internet provider called to offer me a fabulous deal for 6 months, $40 for cable and high speed internet, 25mbs. they asked me what channels i wanted and agreed to give them to me. it seems i forgot to mention the 2 channels that give me pro rasslin. it looks like my pro rasslin days are over. to be honest, i haven't really watched rasslin since i quit drinking but i used to stop on the channel for a few moments whilst channel surfing. all is not lost though, when this current $40 promo is over in 6 months i fully plan to cancel and switch to the other provider to get a free smart tv and will include the rasslin channels if and when i switch.

most of my friends think i'm nuts for the time i spend arguing with the cable companies over rates but they fail to take two things into account: 1. i have more free time than brains and 2, i actually enjoy battling the cable companies.

this was my theme song for years.

i love you sons of bitches.
