have you ever experienced nirvana?
nirvana is a difficult thing to put your finger on but that can be a good thing. in my mind i experienced nirvana 2 nights ago. years ago i felt that i would come close to experiencing nirvana through meditation. i might have come close a few times but probably missed it by a fair margin.
several years ago whilst riding my bike through a light rain before the sun came up i experienced true bliss and i'll never forget the moment. occasionally i'll try and find the perfect gear and the perfect pace and i got lucky that day. the fact that it was dark, there was no traffic and the air was very clean had a great deal to do with it. there's just something about riding a bike in pure silence with a soft breeze and a light shower of rain that is magical to me. it's the sort of thing that just happens. if you think about it and try to achieve it, it'll never happen.
i started watching lexx about a week ago and it was a little tedious to begin with. the episodes were 2 hours long and i was constantly pressing the display button to see how much time was left. episode three was finishing up when lexx took off from the planet and began it's journey through time and space when i was overcome by bliss. to be fair, this episode of bliss was electronically aided by surround sound and a little herbal refreshment earlier in the evening but i was in total bliss for a few minutes as lexx traveled through space and i was immersed in some sweet music.
so i got that going for me too, which is nice.
i love you sons of bitches.

Well if a TV show gets you there, you must be improving. Or maybe your herbal refreshments are improving...
I thought I had reached nirvana when I was actually I was just arriving in Chattanooga.
gb - i needed all 3 to achieve the bliss; lexx, the sound system and the herbal refreshments.
thims - the pioneer officially passed the test. soon i'll be auditioning new speakers.
I think the only time I reached nirvana was the first time I listened to Nirvana and I also was enjoying some herbal refreshments. Glad you found it again BP and hope it is easier to get back to. Have a good one.
If you want good bang for buck google Linaeum tweeter... you may be surprised what sub-$100 can do.
But you'll need to match them to a very good subwoofer and spend some effort with the equalizer. The Pioneers are noted for having a nice automatic setup program but id tweak it some because the Optimus midrange won't be anything to write home about.
I really am going to have to find this Lexx. Some of the actors and one of the robots seem familiar to me. I must say that the ship looks like a giant bug that needs squishing.
As for the nirvana... there are been a few times. I think the best part is the fact that you don't expect it when it happens. It simply is.
mr shife - somehow i feel like the reverend jim ignatowski finding enlightenment.
thims - i've always wanted some electro voice speakers. i'll keep looking until something else jumps up and says "buy me!"
silly - someone left the cake out in the rain....
I'm no expert, but Poll and Klipsh were always good to me. Right now I use 4 of those Optimus' with a Cambridge Soundworks center channel and sub. It works for me but my days of careful contemplation of midi are over until the kids are older (and quieter).
Is that thing supposed to look like a dragonfly?
thims - close your eyes, click your heels and the kids will be adults. it happens that fast.
secret - it might look like a dragon fly but it's really, really, really big. they use helicopters to get around inside lexx.
Droid really screwed up my last comment but you get the idea.
Atticus is almost 8 already. But Rosemary is only 4 and we've got another on the way.
My old 'free off craigslist' '68Grundig still has great sound after 40+ years. I never turn it off, just turn down the volume.
Have you ever been experienced
pilgrims?
I need to check out that show..Nirvana..hmm, maybe when the boys win the superbowl..and like right now..when I noticed bbc didn't comment.
thims - so you have sex every 4 years?
anon - i don't understand women like you.
yellowdog - who gives a shit as long as your cowboys smoke those asshole jets.
What can I say? The Women's World Cup makes me randy.
what's to understand
pilgrim?
two things- FASTER,
HARDER.
how tough can it be?
pilgrims
thims - women's golf does it for me. those asian assassins are hot.
I like meditation, but your method sounds really potent! You could call it research and see if you can replicate the results.
Nirvana?
Basil, home grown tomatoes, mozzarella cheese and evoo.
And a dash of Modena's gorgeous balsamic vinegar.
Seriously.
Wonderful post-- I've had the experience a few times-- the two that spring forth now were a fishing moment and a sudden out of body almost while running (mile 10 or so).
p.s. Lexx is overloaded with erotic imagery-- be careful you don't hurt yourself.
That spaceship, before it gets all fired up, looks like a piece of David Yurman jewelry. That might actually take some folks to Nirvana.
Hmm, perhaps this could be his new spring line...
Me--a snow capped mountain with some packed powder trails. And the race to the bottom. Pure bliss.
I'll race to the bottom!

One time back in '84 I had the pleasure of taking a then legal and somewhat cutting edge drug that came from Dallas, TX. MDMA.
It seemed like nirvana but I guess technically it was ecstasy. The consensus of everyone there was that it should not only remain legal but that it should become mandatory.
Tex, we called it just plain "MDA" back around 1969/70.
Have you ever been to electric ladyland
pilgrims?
nance - i try to replicate the nirvana experience every evening at 9:17. give or take 5 minutes depending on how long it takes ruby to relieve herself.
shaw - ain't nothing in the world like home grown tomaters.
bob - fishing! i was watching howard do a little fishing on the mighty boosh and gained some valuable insight into the true purpose of fishing.
jayne - your snowy nirvana sounds pretty good but it might be a little cold for me.
thims - i think mr anonymous and leslie are honeymooning in the adirondacks. (i just bought 2 adirondack chairs)
tex - i remember mda from high school. never really did much for me but i suspect someone sold us a product that had been stepped on several times.
harry - are you taking good care of bill?
The chairs are the best thing about the Adirondacks.
I've never heard of Lexx, but...
leslie - 2 suns!
if that isn't nice, what is?
