ouch

i got my flu shot on thursday and today i have a sore throat. just a coincidence or do flu shots really give you a small case of the sniffles.

since it was free i won't complain or cry like a big baby. nope, i'm going to blame THIS SON OF A BITCH!

or how about THE APPLE GESTAPO!

as i previously wrote, i bought a new el cheapo computer. it works just fine and has similar specs to an apple computer costing many time more. i called a friend who recently shelled out about $2500 for an apple computer, $1700 for the computer and $800 for an extended warranty, service contract and a bunch of shit from the i store. when i called to tell him about my $359 bargain i was expecting him to say, "shit, i should have got one of those and saved a bundle." to my surprise he basically called me an idiot saying my new toy was a piece of crap and i should have got a quality machine like an apple. so it goes.

i love you sons of bitches.

Jobs, as I understand it, never gave any money to charity despite his vast wealth. And apparently, according to that article, he wasn't such a nice guy in other ways. But you can be an Apple fan without being a Jobs fan. I loved my iPod, and when the iPhone's came out, I was thrilled. When it was time to get a travel computer/ereader the iPad was a natural choice. Email, movies, books, camera - all in one very small package. When this laptop dies (hopefully not for a long time), I'm getting a macbook.

BTW, I can't believe anyone would pay for an $800 warranty on an item that costs only twice that. That's nuts.

A flu shot kills some people. They are like getting an immunity to snake bites by taking a bit of the venom, some can't take that little dose.

and $800 for an extended warranty,

Everyone on this planet knows that extended warranty's are for idiots.

Who in the hell would want to keep a computer that long? They become outdated so fast.

I expect my three hundred buck computer to last three years, then I'll buy another three hundred buck computer that is better than it is, then maybe one more, by then it's likely that I'll be done with computing and out trying to kill myself on the sea.

secret - not only did he give no money to charity, he terminated apple's charitable foundation. a nasty man.

bill - it wasn't 800 for the extended warranty alone. he also bought the service pack and lots of shit at the istore. the istore is cash machine for apple.

hell, I could buy a car for what he paid for the computer..dickhead..

You bought an Apple clone? I'm astonished. I thought Apple had managed to exterminate all the clone makers. What's the brand name? I like my iPod but I have no use for anything else coming from the Evil Apple Empire and the Prince of Arrogance, the Unrisen Jobs.

But didn't you buy a PC? Comparing that with an Apple Mac is like comparing, well, apples and oranges. They have different operating systems.

Man, I tell you every year not to get that shot.
Some people!
They would rather listen to a health care professional than a random blogger for healthcare advise!

El Cheapo is a fine brand and they don't have a Gestapo.

yellowdog - i would buy a car for that amount either. i need a way better car than that!

bob - nope, not an apple clone. just a hp basic model.

gb - yes i bought a pc. they do the same thing so i think it's an banana to banana comparison and i think windows 7 is just as good if not better that the apple os.

tex - hey, the shot is free and i like free stuff!

I bought my daughter a refurbished HP laptop for 25% the cost of a Mac thing and 33% the cost of a new HP laptop. It has worked fine except for occasionally not shutting down properly. Great values I think.

I've never owned anything apple, been with pc's since the days of dos and even knew what an internut was.

The Win 7 on this unit seems to be rock solid and hasn't hiccuped but once or twice since I bought it a year ago.

I guess apple is just on this planet for folks with more money than budget brains?

If I was super rich I'm not sure what I would do with the money, but the way I view the world these days it's not likely I would use it to help others.

I mean, hell, my next boat would cost 40 to 50 million bucks and then there's the expense of keeping it up.

Oh well, it's not a problem I'll ever have to deal with.

HP? Good luck.

BBC said...

I like to ponder on shit like this, lets see, apples are for wealthy (and many not so wealthy) people that are too stupid to figure out pc's. (mad laughter in the background)

Boy, this is some damn good soup I made.

Um, I've always gotten good service from my hp products. My ten year old hp lazerjet won't die so I can buy a new color one.

And the hp camera I gave Harry is a better camera than the last two pieces of shit I bought that are not hp.

During delusional moments I think of upgrading my 19 buck cell phone to a 30 dollar one, it may take decent pictures. And it would be better for doing texting so I could call more monkeys idiots, hehehehe

bob - i always seem to have a problem with sleeping and hibernating. so far this one is a sound sleeper.

thims - i don't need luck, somebody up there likes me.

bill - i have an hp camera that's bullet proof. it came with 2 rechargable batteries and a docking bay for $80. now if i could have only got one of those hp tablets for $100 when they cleared them out.

BBC said...

100 bucks for a tablet seems cheap, but I still wouldn't feel the need for one.

I want a bigger letter and graphics cutting machine, they're just so damn fun to play with. :-)

BBC said...

Some one 'up there' wants to give you a blow job, hehehe

BBC said...

So you got that going for you also. :-)

I have a 20yr old HP LaserJet that still works, last time I checked (it is too slow to use compared to modern options).

I cut my teeth on HP spectrum analyzers, traveling wave tube amplifiers, and power supplies, way back when.

I used to love HP. But in the last 10 years, they have gone straight to hell and are only propped up by their large corporate accounts and by bilking the consumer with "good deals".

Maybe it will work out for you... 7 times out of 10 there are no problems... but may Apu help you if you end up needing warranty repair...

thims - for the price i paid i consider it to be disposable.

Great song! I think too that computers really are disposable items with a limited worth life. My biggest gripe with Mr. Jobs is that he sent so many good jobs overseas. I can't help but think that all the money he made doing that isn't doing him a darned bit of good wherever he is now. I certainly would not have put up with all that privacy invasion. I'm too paranoid.
I've had a flu shot every year for almost 20 years. In all that time, I have only gotten mildly sick once, while my coworkers miss so much work and were in misery. Free is always a great price.

billy pilgrim said...

silly - jobs was a brilliant and ruthless business man. if i wasn't paying for my daughter's iphone i'd be a big fan of his.

silly rabbit said...

Still with marketing paranoia on his part so thick... doesn't it make you wonder what sort of tracking he/they do there on the machines they sell? Are our machines spying on us as we use them?

billy pilgrim said...

silly - think there are about 100 data miners and marketers watching our every move.

Ouch is right! I finally bit the bullet and bought a MacBook. And I have to say, despite the price (yes, it hurt) I'm a total convert. Of course, this thing is only days old, but so far, I'm loving my new baby. I tell ya, I'm in a deep. It's a meaningful relationship. Oh yes, my heart will be broken if anything goes wrong! ;)

jayne - my daughter is an apple convert. she wants a new laptop and i offered to buy her one but i refused to buy an apple and she refused to accept a lenovo so she still has her sony with a worn out battery.
