pipelines and lizards

i will no longer criticize obama. from this point forward i will no longer use the name obama, hence forth he will either been known as "shit for brains" or "fluff for balls" on this little blog.

this all relates to shit for brains decision to delay making a decision on the keystone pipeline until after his re-election bid. had he just said, no fucking pipeline, application rejected, i would have been fine with that but to sacrifice a multi-billion dollar project in favor of his own political well being is pathetic.

financial markets hate uncertainty and that's the main thing fluff for balls brings to the table, uncertainty. will he try to appease his unionized labor base or will he try to appease his nut job liberal base? who the fuck knows?

here is the canadian view on all this: Keystone Cops’ crippling U.S. economy

but i'd rather talk about lizards. recently i purchased an e-reader. it had 100 pre-loaded free books and i decided to read moby dick. moby dick didn't show up until the 94% mark of the book. it was tough slogging reading that book. then i read neuromancer. another tough book to read. so fuck it, i turned to the lizards!

harry turtledove's world war series might be the best sci fi books i've ever read. this will be the 3rd time i've read them. it's an alternate history. lizards from another star system land on earth ready to conquer the primitive natives they scouted several hundred years ago. the lizards arrive in the midst of world war 2 and the humans aren't as primitive and ill equipped as they thought. it makes for an excellent adventure.

i love you sons of bitches.

Never could get into reading much so called "scifi",always seemed overly complicated for my simple brain. Give me some good old B Traven.

I always like those boys band; they had a good sound.

How 'bout some Terrance Trent Darby?

He still around?

That old boy could sing him a song or two. And a dancin mofo fo' sho'!

Have a good one pilgrim.

I'm wondering whether Turtledove got his lizard idea from David Icke, an English conspiracy loony who believes the world is controlled by humans with reptilian brains. Obama could be one of them.

harry- this blocking utube and other stuff really bugs me. i mean, what's the fecking point??

gb - i always thought conny rice had a lizard look to her but obama reminds me of a famous greek, narcissus.

At the mention of that shit for brains my stomach soured. That song describes him to a T.
However, you saved me with The Race!
Give ol' Ussmak my regards... and tell him to avoid the ginger!
I love that series.

Folitics and democracy is a messy business but I'm not going to blame Obama for delaying the pipeline, a lot of well meaning Americans don't want it and he is after all supposed to be serving us.

Why don't they just build a special highway for tanker trucks to keep the spills to a minimum? Oh hell, face it, we need to wean ourselves of oil even though you may want the money from it.

I don't give a fuck about the financial markets, they are one of the problems on this rock and if others lose their ass on them that's just fine with me.

Oh, about Obama, the best way for him (I'm sure I would like him in a campground) to leave office is to get caught getting a blow job or fucking another monkey on a white house couch.

We deserve some fucking entertainment for our tax dollars.

pilgrim, it's all about "free trade" don't ya know.

'least that's what they tell me.

Smoke 'em if ya got 'em.

I'm okay with free trade, Harry. I'll paint her front room for sex. Maybe even tune up her car.

Looks like it will be reasonably mild out there today, maybe I can get a second coat of paint on the boat top, or do some plinking to stay in practice, never know when a rat will show up.

dora - i bought some southern pecan coffee last week and it's excellent.

silly - shit for brains is running his not empire into the ground. atvar was right about snout counting being a ridiculous way to select a leader.

bill - it's been studied for years and assurance was given that it would be passed then shit for brains decides to wait until after the election. so it goes.

harry - under free trade once the oil started flowing we wouldn't be allowed to turn it off but there's an opening for the chinese.

Bob Harrison said...

I don't get it-- why not build refineries near the source of the oil? Wouldn't that be more economically and environmentally sound? Wouldn't that create more jobs?

A lame duck Shit for Brains isn't my worst nightmare, but it's in the top ten.

pilgrim, when I mentioned " free trade" I was referring to the youtude nonsense but your point is well taken.

Lots of free books at the kindle store but methinks you bought brand x?

bob - the unions in canada want to refine the oil saying there are 18,000 jobs with spinoffs if the oil is refined in canada. i think exporting the refining jobs to your country was all part of the negotiations but i guess all that is back on the table. our prime minister and finance minister are now getting involved. so it goes.

tex - i didn't really give a shit until i heard "after the election". he clearly puts his own agenda ahead of the national interest. if it's so bad, just kill it and the oil is off to china. no problem.

harry - i bought a kobo, $60 and endless free books.

I'd rather you talk about lizards, too, billy, but I respect your right to find America stoopid ;^) We seem to be very ambivalent about the oil sands project and I'm danged if I know why. Something else to research! I've got your link bookmarked and will have at it as soon as I summon the courage. Thanks!

Your Kobo/indigo Books operation was just sold to a Japanese conglomerate the night before we were to sign a huge music licensing deal with them.

I"m pissed at Canada. May more of our severed feet wash upon your shores.

billy pilgrim said...

nance - i didn't call america stoopid. it's your president delaying a decision until after the election that rankles me. the first time i saw him my first impression was narcissist and i think i was right. would you agree?

leslie - indigo sold their interest in kobo. indigo is still intact. fyi, heather reissman the ceo, is married to gerry schwartz and the $140 million for kobo is pocket change to old gerry. he's the ceo and main shareholder in onex.

pissed at cananda? who gives a shit.

billy pilgrim said...

leslie - oh yeah, i'd bet $5.00 that i dislike heather reissman more than you do.

Well, I don't think it's ever a good idea to run an oil pipeline near a water source, particularly if it can be rerouted elsewhere.

Obama's non-decision doesn't surprise me one bit. Should we look to reptiles for guidance?

billy pilgrim said...

jayne - the lizards are bewildered at the human practice of selecting leaders by counting snouts. (voting) i guess that's part of the problem when a government gives the nod to a long term project but gets defeated before the project gets underway and the new government want to put their stamp on the deal.

i'm watching a bbc show from australia debating whether the media has morals. i love the australian and english accents. i'd like to hear these guys debating dirty oil.

BBC said...

Well, is it okay if I call Americans stooped?

After all, look what kind of people they keep putting in office.
