yours truly has truly been busy this past week and will be even more busy in the coming weeks. i don't like being busy so please say a prayer for me.
since i don't have a primo topic at the moment let me give you my 2 cents on the ukraine. my dear old dad grew up on the prairies in the depression and has given me lots of stories, most of which went in one ear and out the other but i'll never forget his comments on the ukes. there were lots of ukrainians on the prairies where he lived and this is what he told me: "never trust a fucking ukrainian, they'll slit your throat for a nickel."
i've never really had any dealing with ukrainians but i had a russian boss for a few years. a real fucking russian, born in russia. she was very hard working and very blunt. almost everyone hated her but for some funny reason i liked her. it might be because i'm a big dostoevsky and tolstoy fan but for some funny reason we hit it off.
so in a nutshell here is my opinion on the crimean situation: i don't give a shit but i'd probably lean a little towards the russians. the ukes have fucked up their country and are basically bankrupt due to corruption and incompetence. putin might well be corrupt, but he's competent. competence is important.
being leo myshkin, i'm probably a wee bit biased but don't forget, i love you sons of bitches.

We have an Orthodox church close to me...pretty service but I just can't take the teaching of any religion that is connected to Abraham.
I've talk to some Ukes as you call them. Depend what part of the Ukraine there from if there closer to Europe then they side with Europe. Closer to Russia yea then the side the Russia.
My mom was a dust bowl kid and she was tough as nail.
yeah, dad worked about 12 hours a day on the farm when he was young and that also made him tough as nail. 92 years old and still going strong.
Yeah, the Russians can be pretty unsentimental. Did you find out anything about your boss's family history? I'd guess they were white rather than red. Crimea should never have been part of Ukraine, so I hope everyone will find a way of accepting the news status quo.
I trust Putin more than Obama not to start the next open-ended cannon-fodder police action to feed the fucking banKhazars:
He hates those sonsofbitches, God bless him!
gb - agreed, i think the people of crimea will do better under the russian umbrella. they have a strategic location that russia will look after very nicely.
galt - from i've observed, putin will put up with the oligarchs until they get too greedy or critical.
Helen's parents came from Czechoslovakia, she was born in Montana in a poor area. I don't know shit about Czechoslovakians, but she is the cream of the crop in any race.
I just hope the good old US of A just minds their own business and lets Russia and Ukraine take care of their own matters. Unfortunately I know that won't happen but one can hope, right. Take care BP.
This post made me laugh...really laugh.
I'll say a prayer that you sail through the busy...and that it won't swamp or overwhelm you...
The rest of the world doesn't seem to want our bonds recently...
Can you fucking blame them?
I don't know about that, the Bottled-in-Bond Act of 1897 pretty much set the standard to assure that our bonded whiskeys would remain popular.
I agree with Mr. Shife.
It' not the business of the U.S., it's kind of like if Florida had broken away at one point and wanted to have a vote on whether or not to join back up with the U.S.
It wouldn't be any of Russia's business.
well, sentiment seems to be in favor of letting the russians and ukes sort things out themselves.
as our spokesman, i'll forward this information to prime minister harper. actually, that son of a bitch harper rarely responds to my suggestions. previous prime ministers always sent me polite form letters.
Crooks ripping off crooks ripping off crooks. Can you blame the ukrainians? Look at the old soviet model they were under. And is the west any better? Our banks robbed us blind and not one of the bass turds went to jail.
Mr. deMeur makes a very valid point.
McCain: 'Russia is a gas station masquerading as a country'
And America is a bunch of bankers and power brokers masquerading as a country....
canada is a double A farm team masquerading as a country.
Billy, my friend, to state that every Ukrainian would slit your throat for a nickel's a bit harsh and racist, my friend. Perhaps you need to read-up on the history of the relationship between the Ukraine and Russia. The people of Ukraine revolted against their president, Yanukovych and immediately established an interim government. Yanukovych fled to Russia, as we all know, with the blood of his people on his hands.
The old wounds and troubles that've existed between the Ukraine and Russia will continue to fester. Putin, admittedly does seem to have calmed down a bit, but personally, I believe that this is because of Russia's economic troubles and political standing in the world. I believe that the Ukraine will remain free from Russian control and interference. Hopefully, sense will prevail.
On tonight's news, after the illegal referendum in Crimea, 95% of Crimeans want to become apart of Russia, again. It would indeed have been extremely interesting to hear the views of the likes of such men of wisdom such as: Tolstoy, Dostoyevsky, Pushkin, Chekhov, Gorky, et al, on this unsavoury situation.

are you calling me and my dad racists?
95% seems to be a firm statement that the good people of crimea would prefer to be part of russia. russia, or the ussr, is like a cosmic nebulai constantly giving birth to new countries only to have them morph into red dwarfs and collapse.
Billy, my friend, I'm not calling you or your good dad racists, mate, I'm just implying that these remarks/comments could well be construed [by some] as being so. The 95% are apart of the corrupt Russian-sanctioned referendum, and once again, my friend, it's also useful and needful to read about the historical background to this situation. And I'm sure that every astronaut and every Malaysian missing plane conspiracy theorist will agree with me on that! :-P

If a plane with 260 Americans or Canadians on it disappeared would a bunch of nine irons in another country give a shit?
steve, the old russian writers loved mother russia and if you've read many of their books you'd know that they'd probably be blaming everything on the dirty jews, especially pushkin.
pushkin was a dirty jew ?
Oy, who knew?
Billy, my friend, I've read a whole load of Lev Tolstoy, my friend, and, if I'm not mistaken must have all of his philosophical and religious writings.
Have you read 'What Then Must We Do? Well worth the read - expansive and thought-provoking, etc., etc., etc.. And Tolstoy, to me, doesn't quite appear to love 'old mother Russia' when expressing his viewpoints contained within the aforementioned, not to mention, in most of his other writings, for that matter. Bloody hell, he slates Russia, the church, war, and all things capitalistic in his most defining work [my opinion], 'The Kingdom Of God Is Within You'. Personally, I think this is the work of a genius, and I'm not even religious!
A Confession - classic. The Gospel In Brief - wonderful. What The Must We Do? - Amazing. The Kingdom Of God Is Within You - Mind-blowing. A Calendar Of Wisdom - Soothing. Wise Thoughts For Every Day - Beautiful!

The kingdom of god? I'm not going to go live with jesus, that fucking queer isn't sticking his dick in my ass.
