the enemy

we have met the enemy and he is us

it doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out that we in the west are indeed our own worst enemies. we don't have to look in mosques or synagogues, we merely have to look in the mirror. that son of a bitch looking back at me in the mirror is getting pretty old and wrinkled. i winked at the prick and he was kind enough to whisper his plan into my ear:

Whether you like it or not, history is on our side. We will strangle your cities with traffic. We'll draw you into fighting useless wars. We'll send in developers to ravage your land and replace your individual farms with corporations. We will force your citizens into the slavery of credit card debt. We'll send gangsters into your schools to sell your children drugs. We'll replace each of your meals with empty junk food. One way or another, you'll see who comes out on top.

i suspect he borrowed a lot of ideas from the nixon-khrushchev kitchen debate but regardless of where the idea originated, you gotta admit it's been very successful so far. our great leaders have been onto this plan for many years but rather than bring an end to the cunning plot, they decided to spread this man made disease to the rest of the planet. our leaders have been so successful at spreading this disease that the dumb sons of bitches in the developing world are not fighting back, in fact they're paying us for the privilege of being poisoned by junk food and industrial by-products.

now someone just has to tell those nogoodnik muslims to relax, they don't have to shoot us or blow us to smithereens, we'll take of it ourselves.

or maybe we should just apologize to the muslims and call the whole thing off.

i love you sons of bitches.

Replace the credit card with the debit card and eat pasta instead of burgers. It's the blueprint for a better world.

dora - life is good in canada. it's pouring rain and oil is in the crapper so there is some room for improvement.

js - yeah, but we can unfuck ourselves if we get our shit together.

gb - but i need my bonus points from the credit card! burgers are my main source of protein so that would be a huge sacrifice.

king - excellent point.

I think you're right except for the apology part.

"Well, things are what they are."

Whatever...

snow - we've kinda bombed the living shit out them for over a decade so i wouldn't be too upset with an apology. i'm sure obama's spin doctors and social media team could come up with a real good, insincere apology.

or we could deliver donald trump to them, trussed up with an apple in his mouth.

The world is indeed full of stupid people. I think it's perfectly evident here in the good old US of A that Donald Trump is still the Republican front-runner.

i can't figure out if donald shoots from the hip or if all the crazy stuff he says is researched and producing the desired effect. i like him more than cruz, huckabee and christie.

I think he knows how to pull the emotional strings of his target audience and truth and fairness be damned. What I don’t understand is whether he really thinks he can win the election, whether as a Republican (I really can’t imagine that the Republicans are going to have him as their candidate) or as an independent. I also don’t understand how so many people can be so delusional as to believe his promise that he can “make them safe,” and so forth, or to not be phased by his predictable breaking of his vow not to leave the party. Does common sense and integrity simply not matter to these people because they're so terrified that all they can think about is the The Donald promised that they "wouldn't have to be afraid" with him as their president.

i think old donald is playing to all those feeling disenfranchised from society. they've seen their american dream go down the crapper and resent anyone not in agreement with their own views and then along comes donald who promises to "make things great again"

or they could be just be lunatics who have found a new messiah.

I have sympathy for his supporters because extremism is just what happens when society excludes people and trashes their values.
