the time has come....

2010 is almost over so it's time to reflect on the year past and look forward to the coming year.

all in all 2010 was decent year for me. i didn't spend a minute in jail and didn't commit any mortal sins. shit, it was a pretty lackluster year. i've thought long and hard about coming up with a few new year's resolutions but i don't have any vices that i want to give up. that doesn't me that i don't have any vices it just means i enjoy my vices and am going to keep them.

i've decided to spice things up by drinking more coffee. 2011 will be the year i try to find the second best cup of coffee in the world. the best cup of coffee contains grand marnier or scotch but that's off bounds for me. in the old days a good cup of coffee would always be accompanied with a cigarette but i've long since given that little pleasure too. fuck, i've given up all the good stuff.

that's it, i'm getting depressed thinking about all the good stuff that i can no longer enjoy. oh yeah, i'm going to seek the perfect cup of coffee. big whoop.

i love you sons of bitches so if you're having a drink or a smoke, have an extra one for me.

I'm not going to reflect on the past year, it's behind us now and there's not a damn thing I did that I'm ashamed about.

I've been cutting back on drinking (not that you can tell by how I talk) and smoking but what the hell, for a buddy I'll step up to the plate and take a few for you.

The perfect cup of coffee hey? Hell, I don't know, all that fancy shit doesn't impress me at all but you might try our old country way, it made damn good coffee.

Build a campfire in the back yard, put some water (decent water like rain water) in a pot and toss in a lot of coffee grounds and bring it all to a good boil for ten minutes.

Let settle and enjoy at the campfire. I cheat and strain it through a coffee filter. :-)

You still have coffee! A perfect cup of coffee is elusive, but does appear now and then (and the rest of the time - it wakes me up, at least). Try whole beans, a grinder and drip coffee. A bit of cream is good, too!

Good Will Hunting, my friend, Good Will!

Yellow dog doesn't drink coffee? Well that's trying to get just a little too fucking saintly, in a sick way.

We all know that the jesus dude liked a good cup of wine.

billy - i don't go for the fancy coffee either and of course i drink it black.

yellowdog - i don't consider ice cream to be a vice. it's a important nutrient for my osteo. i might double up on the ice cream and cut out the fosavance.

crazy - it has to be hot and black. i usually pour some boiling water in the mug to heat it before pouring the coffee.

billy - yer right, she's a fucking saint! can a pagan be a saint?

Jacuzzi and massage are harmless vices you ought to consider. My only food vice is dry roasted peanuts, which are good for you.

I recon that pagans are closer to being saintly than christians and muslims.

gb - massage parlors up here aren't cheap but the ladies sure look nice.

billy - i suspect pagans have just as many flaws as christians and muslims. there just aren't as many so we don't hear about them.

My elderly uncle tells me that we all will hopefully reach a point in life when we look forward to letting a fart. The pleasures become more simple over time, apparently.

True, nothing wrong with a nice fart. But with age you can't always trust a fart.

robert -i remeber reading a grace slick interview where she said the best thing about getting old was sleeping alone and being able to fart all she wanted.

billy - thanks, another thing to look forward to.

My dear friend, I will do exactly that, for you!

BTW... stopping smoking is my resolution and yes, I have screwed that up plenty! But determination will win over. Right? (Please say yes.)

Many good wishes for you in the coming year!

With the dawning of a new year it's time to reflect on Our Ancestors

Since switching to a little pot pipe and 6 ounce bags of tobacco my smoking costs 30 bucks a month instead of over 150 bucks for ciggs.

I may have a bad habit but at least I can be a cheap son of a bitch.

ananda - happy feckin new year! i have all the confidence in the world you'll beat tobacco. don't prove me wrong.
