technology

our internet connection went on the fritz last week and panic quickly set in. the techie on the phone said we needed a personal visit but they were backed up so it wouldn't be until the following monday, today! a few hours after calling technical support things started working so i forgot all about the personal visit. well, the service technician showed up today and installed lots of new crap. i really didn't want the new crap but was told i needed it and i really should go for a total re-wire. somehow or other i ended up with 2 new passwords to remember. fuck me, life can get difficult.

on the positive side of the equation, i had a moment of true bliss a few nights ago whilst watching the x files. as any x files fan will tell you, all x files episodes are not created equal. let me heartily recommend THE UNNATURAL, season 6, episode 19. it's all about baseball and aliens and if that isn't nice, what is? there's some great music and it's set in the 1940's so there's also a nice nostalgic feel to it. i'll be watching it again real soon.

i couldn't find a good clip of the episode but here's a song from the episode and the black guy is an alien baseball player.

i love you sons of bitches.

Shit. Oh well. He was a live wire.

My favorite episode of x-files was Cancer Man.

he killed himself, so it goes. let's all run to facebook and pretend he was our best friend.

i just watched the 2 part deal on the cancer man and his son. mulder was too smart for them.

Killing yourself isn't for cowards that are afraid to die but are going to anyway.

the truth is out there.

The truth is that he isn't dead, he just got tired of dealing with a body or mind he was tired of dealing with. The spirit rolls on.

Anyway, in this heat I've been having problems with being online, or the computer locks up. If it was this hot all the time I would put the CPU, modem and router in a fucking fridge.

For the time being I'm getting by with just putting it in sleep mode and getting on line for a few minutes at a time.

the benevolent cable company gave me a new modem/router today. it broadcast on 2 different frequencies.

so i got that going for me too.

Larry will keep giving us new modems until we are shitting in our pants and drooling on our keyboards like Leslie, so we got that going for us also.

It been all over social media. I liked Robin Williams

Two new passwords? WTF. The worst is being given some shitty password with letters and numbers that you're not allowed to change. I hope you could change yours to something sweet and catchy.

billy pilgrim said...

king - larry?

dora - yeah, depression will the topic de jour for some time.

gb - they gave me a new moden/router that had to be activated by head office and needed a password. i suspect they do not have my best interests at heart.

Larry the cable guy...

Is it raining any there?

billy pilgrim said...

oh that larry.

i'm guessing the medical industrial complex is going to make a killing out of williams' death.

We had a few drops of rain but waiting for the big winds. Should be coming later on.

hot and humid here. i did about 15 minutes of semi hard work and was sweating like a pig.

(and did a long ride to a new fish store today.)

I went to the doctor, then to the hospital for a cat scan, then fucked off the rest of the day.

Weather wise it was pretty decent here, could have rained more though.

I'm just one mile from a legal fishing hole.

Not sure what kind of doors will open with all this techie and social media.
Seem like it takes to much time. It could end up be over whelming.

I keep hearing about big storm. Some people had there light flicker. Power still on

billy pilgrim said...

cat scan, i thought the rescue ladies took away Helen's cats.

dora - cool and wet here. a very nice change.

Some network should run all of the old x-files again, I'd watch them.

"he killed himself, so it goes. let's all run to facebook and pretend he was our best friend."

No kidding, I remember when Michael Jackson died, people were coming out of the woodwork claiming to be his best friend.

I was like "Where were all you a-holes when he was alive?"

billy pilgrim said...

thims - yup, a change is as good as a rest. (unless things are going really good. i'm not looking for a change at the moment)

king - the poor monkeys are getting slaughtered testing the ebola vaccine.

tex - i got my xfiles free at the public library. it's got a better selection than alice's restaurant.

Alice was fun until my dick got stuck to her leg.

had an excellent burger with a tomato harvested 3 minutes before eating it. life is good.

I need to re-watch some X-Files. It has been awhile and I really liked that show a lot. Glad you got all straightened out with your Internet. The bloggosphere doesn't need you offline for too long. Take care BP.

billy pilgrim said...

thank you for your continued support mr shife. i'm 100% certain that you would love the unnatural. in addition to the alien, we get to know arthur dales.

jesusfuckingchrist, I done went to Oregon to visit my long lost first born daughter, and came back home, and you still haven't put up a new post?

BTW, my first born daughter is so sweet (her hubby is also), maybe it is a good thing I didn't have anything to do with raising her.

Looks like a lot of people got a lot to say...Is it important stuff...depends how one want or needs to look at it.

billy pilgrim said...

dora - yup, we have a lot to say. most of it's bullshit but that doesn't slow us down one bit.
